MELBOURNE FASHION DESIGNER, TATIANA, IS BUILDING HER PRACTICE THROUGH DESIGN AND PHOTOGRAPHY WORK.

Focusing on high quality and low-impact clothing, Tatiana creates fun, modern takes on traditional garment construction. Inspired by wearer empowerment within city landscapes, her designs use natural fibers to work on lessening fashion’s negative environmental impact, and ensure the highest quality designs. Focusing on traditional and industry techniques, her garments aim for the highest standard of making. Taking inspiration from the city around her, she designs are made for everyday wearability, with a modern office-wear aesthetic, as well as being for the fun and joyful moments of life.

Tatiana is a RMIT Fashion Design Graduate.
Living in Melbourne, Tatiana comes from Dunsborough, WA, where she learnt her creativity and appreciation for the environment , thanks to her wonderful family, which guides her practice today.

TATIANA’S FINAL COLLECTION, ‘MAGICAL THING’, IS A RTW COLLECTION FOCUSING ON HER PASSION FOR STRENGTH IN THE FEMININE AND HER MAKING TECHNIQUES.

‘Magical Thing’ is a RTW collection that draws on her lived experience of womanhood in the fourth wave of feminism. Holding core themes of strength in the feminine, Tatiana explores women’s struggle to express one’s power and one’s softness simultaneously. The collection endeavours to upvalue women’s labour by focusing on technique and craft in the design process, using slow design methods to create garments that will be kept for a lifetime. A Gothic colour scheme juxtaposes the soft silk drapery, building an intimate world where strength and softness coincide.

DESIGNER TO WATCH’ 2021
TATIANA WAS 1 OF 5 WA FASHION STUDENTS SELECTED BY PRIVE AS AN UP AND COMING TALENT, TO PARTICIPATE IN THEIR YEARLY RUNWAY NIGHT.

This event gave Tatiana the opportunity to show an original outfit on the runway for a live audience, and to participate in a night of fashion and networking with the enthusiastic WA fashion community and socialites.

A.I.P.SHIT GROUP EXHIBITION 2021
TATIANA PARTICIPATED IN A GROUP EXHIBITION SHOWING HER SUMMER 2021 COLLECTION.

This event brought together a group of creatives in many fields spanning painting, sculpture, fashion and digital media. Providing a night of fun, art and entertainment.
The opportunity gave Tatiana a platform to present and sell her work to the public.
